So what’s a DigiBean?

A DigiBean is virtual credit worth 10¢ that you award your children for doing jobs and chores around the house, and achieving good grades in school.

As a parent, you set up a list of daily and weekly jobs you’d like your children to help out with at home. Then you assign a DigiBean value for completing the task.

How do my kids earn and collect their DigiBeanz?

Each day your child logs onto DigiBeanz and checks off the tasks he or she has completed, and a pending total is calculated. At the end of each week (every Sunday), you receive a report sheet, showing you what your children accomplished and how much they have earned. You then approve the amount, (or adjust it if you think it’s necessary). The total DigiBeanz are then moved from your child’s pending account to his or her Balance Book. Your children have worked hard for these DigiBeanz, and they are now listed as virtual credit in their DigiBeanz Balance Book.

So what can my children do with their DigiBeanz???

DigiBeanz.com features an online catalogue for kids, filled with toys, gadgets, video games, music, movies, and more. We call the catalogue The DigiBeanz Superstore. Each item in our catalogue is listed with a DigiBean value, rather than a dollar amount. Remember that 1 DigiBean always equals 10¢. So if an item normally costs $20 it would be listed in our catalogue as 200 DigiBeanz.

Your children browse the Superstore, and add items to a Wish List. When they’ve earned enough DigiBeanz to afford an item, they can move it to their virtual checkout. As a parent, you then receive a message stating that your child wants to use his or her credit to acquire a product from our store.

So then What...?

If you feel the product is appropriate for your child, you simply log into our Parent Checkout page to buy the product. After you complete the real purchase, the item will be shipped in the mail, and your child’s DigiBeanz balance will be adjusted. If the child requested a video game which cost 200 DigiBeanz ($20) then 200 DigiBeanz will be deducted from the virtual account.

I heard your products are sold through Amazon. Is that true?

Yes... All of the products listed in our store, are part of Amazon’s affiliate system. So when you buy a product for your child, you are directed to Amazon.com to complete the transaction. As Amazon is one of the largest and most trusted names in Internet shopping, you know you’ll always get a great price and a secure payment environment.

Do my kids have any control over the actual transactions?

No... Absolutely not! Your children can never actually complete a real transaction. This is always completed by you, the parent. Your children simply earn virtual credit (DigiBeanz) for the jobs they do around the house and apply the credit towards products they are interested in. But the only time money truly exchanges hands is when a parent visits our Amazon Checkout page to buy the product.

How else can my children earn DigiBeanz?

DigiBeanz also offers a Grade Goal system (Coming in the Summer of 2010). At the beginning of each term, you and your children set up a grade goal for each subject they are studying, and then set a DigiBean reward value for achieving the grade. If a child achieves the goal, he or she can enter the grade into the Grade Goal report page, and the DigiBean reward value is automatically awarded after your confirmation.

I heard something about Contracts. What are Contracts?

A contract is an agreement between you and your child, where your child participates in a larger project to earn DigiBeanz. Some examples of popular contracts are:

• Wash the car

• Organize and Clean out the Garage

• Fall Yard Clean Up,

etc..

You and your children can create contracts and agree on a DigiBean reward value. When your child completes the task and checks off that it’s completed, the DigiBeanz will automatically be awarded after you have approved the job.

Ok... I’m starting to get excited. How much does it cost to join?

Nothing. Nothing?

Nothing. DigiBeanz is a completely free site to join. The only time you’ll ever make a payment is if you actually purchase a product for your child. So you’ve got nothing to lose by signing up and trying it out. Open an account today, then set up your kids accounts, and create a Job Bank list. That’s all you have to do.
